Professional Kinesiology Program (PKP)
Professional Kinesiology Program (PKP), was founded in
1999 by Dr. Bruce and Joan Dewe to meet the needs of
students all over the world for an internationally recognized
Diploma based training in Kinesiology. It is based on the
world-reknown PKP workshops (PKP I- IV), which have
been taught in 20 countries around the world and translated
into 8 languages.
The PKP program includes the first 10 units of (BKP) Basic Kinesiology Program and expands into areas of kinesiology training such as hypertonic muscles, brain integration, emotional stress release, energy balancing, and vibrational healing.
Kinesiology colleges instituted in any country have the opportunity of adopting the ICPKP syllabus and teaching to an internationally recognized standard.
Students of an ICPKP Accredited College have access to a student forum on this website and help from ICPKP's interactive website www.icpkp.com.
The four year (part time) PKP Certification Program which provides approximately 2300 hours of learning is the most comprehensive student-centered training available in kinesiology world-wide. On graduation, students receive an International Diploma from the International College of Professional Kinesiology Practice.
The PKP Certification Program teaches a wealth of kinesiology techniques including the PKP unique finger-molding system, Five Element and Amygdala Emotion Charts. This college supports personal development, relationship issues, and the opportunity to make personal, emotional and spiritual growth.
After completion of the BKP certification program, students move on to PKP. Each wedge of the chart represents a subject that you study once you complete the first 10 BKP units.
Below is a list of the the 14 wedges of study in the PKP Certification Program:
A&P Anatomy and Physiology section of Kinesiology.
EMS Here we explore the emotional and spiritual issues that each one of face daily and find new choices and healthy options.
PIB In this section of study we look at the way we perform, how well we are integrated and our instinctual behaviours.
OCT This section covers areas that are common to many natural therapies, for example: cultural sensitivity in a professional health practice.
JAF How are joints, adrenals and flexibility related? Here is where we explore the relationships.
ECO Represents the Personal Ecology side of life or the way we interface with our environment and things like nutrition and exercise enhancement.
BFR Business, finance and records is a third level unit, not because it is hard but because we don't need it until we are nearing the time we move into a clinic.
VEF the area where look at Flower Essences and other more metaphysical issues.
MHP Where we look at meridians and holographic perception.
BVL The area related to blood, viscera and lymph
PDG The pelvic diaphragm and pelvic girdle are areas with the potential to cause pain and distress. We explore physical and metaphysical aspects.
RBT This where we look at the regional body trigger points
HMR The study of hypertonic muscle release can enable us to help athletes who have muscles that do not release when they need to.
MST Muscles, skin, and other tissues are the area we look at here. We learn how to work with shoulders, wrists, knees and other areas where muscles ache.
